Quincy, MA – (July 07, 2016) – 鶹վ Construction Managers (鶹վ), a Bridgewater-based full-service construction management firm, recently participated in the topping-off ceremony for Meriel Marina Bay, a 352-unit luxury oceanfront apartment community in Quincy’s Marina Bay neighborhood. Initial occupancy is expected in Spring 2017 and the overall construction is expected to be complete by the end of 2017.
鶹վ was selected as the project’s construction management firm, following recent successful multifamily projects with Hines, including Fuse Cambridge and Currents on the Charles. Working in collaboration with the architectural team of Elkus Manfredi and Cube 3 Studio, the pair of apartment buildings began construction in July of 2015. During the ceremony, the last piece of steel was raised and placed by Iron Workers Local 7, signifying the completion of the structural steel portion on the second of the two buildings. A major milestone, the finalization of the structural steel will allow for construction of the 163 wood framed apartment units in the South Building above the parking garage to commence.
Conveniently located seven miles south of Boston and accessible to major highways as well as the Red Line via shuttle bus, Meriel Marina Bay marries views of the marina and downtown Boston skyline. Meriel Marina Bay will extend the existing boardwalk by providing approximately 20,000 square feet of retail space including several new restaurants and shops that will complement the existing retail in Marina Bay, as well as offer an improved pedestrian connection to Squantum Point Park. Only minutes from the Quincy River Walk, the property will evoke a peaceful escape from the buzz of the City of Boston without the hassle of a long commute.
“The timely completion of the structural steel portion of the second and final building is a tribute to the team’s work ethic and passion for providing consistent quality service and an understanding of client goals,” says Patrick 鶹վ, President at 鶹վ Construction. “We appreciate the opportunity to be involved in the growth of Quincy and look forward to bringing another Hines property to life with Meriel Marina Bay.”
Meriel Marina Bay resident amenities include a state-of-the-art fitness center, a cardio studio, a yoga/group studio, as well as three expansive elevated courtyards – one of which has a resort- style pool.

鶹վ knows that developing the next generation of skilled workers is important to everyone in the construction industry. Working in Somerville at Assembly Row – Block 6 has provided 鶹վ with the unique opportunity to create a program for local young adults at Somerville High School’s Center for Technical Education (CTE) to participate in the process of building a new neighborhood in their own
community.
鶹վ project staff worked with the High School’s CTE Leadership to create a program that helps to develop real life skills through coaching. While the program is still young, the 鶹վ project team at Block 6 is excited to be able to help local kids see how a high rise building gets put together. They’ve already had one very successful day mentoring about a dozen tradesmen showing them the details about how deep foundations are built. “We hope to have several similar training days for students once the project gets closed in and safe areas can be made available for job shadowing later in 2016″, said Dave Morrow, Project Executive at 鶹վ Construction Managers.”The students and the staff are excited and committed to taking this program to the next level”.
Mayor Gary Christenson recently attended an official ribbon cutting celebrating the completion of the residences at “480 Main at Malden Square.” The development includes 195 market rate apartments with on-site parking. Currently, the building is 78 percent occupied.
An empty lot for nearly a decade, the site is now the location of state-of-the-art residences featuring studio, one and two bedroom apartments. Located right outside Malden Square, the development boasts the convenience of a five minute walk to the Malden Center MBTA Station. The building features a 24-hour fitness center with yoga studio, swimming pool with grilling stations, computer café, media room, movie theatre for residents, a business center and is pet friendly. The resident lounge is warm and inviting with a fireplace and a billiards table. There is also ground floor retail space available for lease.
“Malden is a great example of a city that is on the rise, remaking itself into a coveted, unique location with a presence and life independent of Boston for its residents but still readily accessible to all parts of the greater Boston area,” said Chris Todd, head of real estate development, Priderock Capital Partners. “Malden has quite rightly understood that top quality new apartment buildings like 480 Main increase property tax revenues to the City and require very little expensive services such as school capacity in return. 480 Main is a catalytic development; it’s top quality construction, distinctive architecture and most importantly its new residents will spur re-development and rehabilitation of our neighborhood.”
As the newest apartment building in Malden Square, the façade is complimentary to the surrounding historic properties which include the First Baptist Church, Malden Public Library, One Salem Street and the Oddfellows Building.
